Big Expansion At- Air Base
AUCKLAND, Thu. (P A.)— Thousands of pounds are being set aside by Tasman Empire Airways for expansion of the Mechanics’ Bay base in the next 18 months to centralise all maintenance and servicing equipment. “The programme is designed to effect economy.” said the general manager (Mr G. N. Roberts), yesterday. ”We are operating with the same accommodation and equipment as when we had two services across the Tasman a week, whereas today we can operate up to a dozen services a week.”
