Price Of Bread
AUCKLAND, Thu. (Sp.)—The moves by the Master ■ Bakers’ Association to seek an increase in the price of bread had now reached the stage where it was hoped to have the case filed with the Price Tribunal in Wellington in a matter of days, said the Dominion secretary of the association (Mr G. R. Burrowes, of Christchurch), yesterday. Mr Burrowes is visiting Auckland to collect data for the case and expects to remain here until next week. “I am making urgent investigations into bread costs while I am in Auckland,” he said.
“The trade is very restless and something will have to be done. It is hoped that we shall be able to, get the case filed in a matter of days.”
