Search For Missing Girls

AUCKLAND, Thu. (Sp.)— Missing from their homes in Avondale since last Thursday, two young girls are being sought by the police. They left for school on Thursday morning, but failed to arrive.

The girls are: Lucy» Agnes Ryan, aged 15, of 2092 Great North Road, slim build, sft 7in tall, has brown eyes and black hair, worn plaited and shoulder length. She was wearing a navy blue pleated skirt, fawn blouse, blue and grey tie, black shoes and stockings, and a blue felt hat, with a school badge. She also had a tartan skirt of red and green, a blue and white knitted jumped and a green cloth overcoat. Margaret Rose Gordon, aged 13, of 67 Bollard Avenue, sft 6in tall, of heavy build, and looks older than she is. She has blue eyes and auburn hair. She was wearing a navy blue gym frock, white blouse, r.avy blue blazer, black shoes tfnd stockings and a blue felt hat.

She also had a royal blue flared skirt, a royal blue woollen jumper, with animals worked on the front; a pale blue woollen jumper, a spotted organdie blouse, a heavy velour pale blue single-breasted overcoat, with pleated side pockets, a pair of white flannel pyjamas and a pair of red and black shoes.

The police believe the two girls are together. Lucy Ryan is thought to be in possession of two train tickets, but where these are for is not known. Both girls are believed to have been seen in Karangahape Road last Friday. The police think they may seek employment in factories or as waitresses.
