R. H. Conaghan (Whangarei) won the Northland billiards championship Inst night for the third consecutive vear. lie beat H. E. Fenton in the final, bv 1000 to 899. Conaghan increased his lead to 100 at the 600 mark and held this till he reached 900. When Conaghan was* 933, Fenton made an excellent break of 42 to be within 38 of ffie leader, but Conaghan followed : r>n-p ’totpi.- w«th i very confident 49 Cnn.agl 'r v - •• break' ; n ‘he final 504 were 20, 21, 28. 22 and 49 and Fenton's 45, 20, 23 and 42.. A junior snooker championship tournament opens on Monday night. Players 21 years of age and under are eligible.
