Insuring Footballers
WELLINGTON, Tue. (PA.).— It is not the function of the Ne\V Zealand Rugby Union to indicate to its unions what policy they should adopt in regard to insurance schemes for players, .referees and coaches. It fe v lt that while the New Zealand Union can assist in arranging for a scheme as it did with the New Zealand Underwriters’ Association following the recommendation of the annual meeting, the question of providing insurance schemes for players is a domestic matters for the unions themselves to decide. This attitude was taken by the executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union when the question of the New Zealand Um° n giving a lead on the subject was raised in a letter from the Manawatu Union.
