Tramways Dispute Remains Unsettled
WELLLINGTON, Fri. (P.A.).—No agreement had been reached in conciliation council in the New Zealand tramways dispute when the adjournment was taken yesterday until today. The council is sitting under the chaii-manship of Mr H. M. Hoppei’, conciliation commissioner. The employers’ proposals for a settlement were again unacceptable to the assessors for the Tramways Employees’ Union. * The secretary of the union (Mr P. A. Hansen) said the union would not accept any worsening of conditions obtaining in industry, some of them for as long as 30 yeax-s.
