D. P. North Wins Christmas Shoot
Competitors from Whangarei, Taipuha, Ruawai, Okahu, Kirikopuni and Paparoa took part in the" Northern Wairoa Gun Club’s Christmas Shoot at Te Wharau last week-end. Principal events were won by H. Fctts, Northern Wairoa championship; D. North, Christmas shoot; R. Dalbeth, maiden cup. Results:— Eye-Opener, five birds: ’ R. Hunter (12yds) and H. Potts (13yds) shot the possible, Potts winning in the shoot-off. Novice shoot, five birds: R. Dalbeth 1, E. Mahon 2, N. Powell 3. Extra shoot, five birds: D. P. North (18yds) 1, V. Cotterill (13yds) 2. Christmas shoot, seven birds: D. P. North (21yds) 1, H. Rutledge (13yds) 2, L. C. Fisher (12vds) 3. Cash sweepstake. 10 birds: V. Cotterill (14yds), H. Dalbeth (13yds), and R. Cavanach C7yds) each shot the possible and divided. Novice trorhy, five, birds: D. Hutton (11yds), N. Powell (11yds) and R. Paton (11yds) each shot the possible. In the shoot-off Powell won on the 15th bird, with Hutton second. Northern Wairoa Championship Cup. 10 birds: L. C. Fisher (16yds) and H. Potts (16yds) each shot the possible, Potts winning in the shoot-off. Cock o’ the North, 25 birds: Whangarei team. 1. Double rise, five pairs: D. P. North (9 breaks). 1; H. Potts (8 breaks), 2; H. A. Powell. 3. Sweepstake, five birds: R. Cavanagh 1, T. Bali 2. Final shoot, five birds: D. P. North 1.
