WAIROA. —_A game farm has been established at Wairoa and is being run by volunteer labour with materials supplied by the Department of internal Affairs.
A.t present 180 young pheasants* are ’being reared* at the farm. 4 The T indications Java that, with a further 12 sittings eff eggs' from Rotorua now farmed out among poultrykeepers in the district, added to 140 eggs under hens at present, several hundred young birds will be;liberated throughout the district, probably after the coming shooting stason. It is claimed by the caretaker th& if the birds were released before that tine there would not faei a sufficient period to allow them to reach a sufficiently wild date owing to being handled so long. * * *
