Plane Crash: 8 Dead
PARIS, Sun. (1.30 p.m.)—The French Press Agency reports that eight people were killed in a French military plane which crashed into the Mediterranean near Oran.
Mr ancr Mrs H. E. G. Smith, of Hatea Street, Whangarei, have received word that their son, Dr Harmon Smith has
been admitted as a Fellow of the
Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). Dr Smith left New Zealand .in November, 1947, with his wile and small daughter to study in London. Recently appointed to the staff of the Royai National Orthopaedic Hospital of London, Dr Smith intends to remain there until the end of next year when he
j will return to New Zealand. He is an ex-pupil of the Whangarei Boys’ I High School.
