Australian Vet. For Emperor's Horses
SYDNEY, Mon. (11.30 a.m.)—A veterinary surgeon, Mr F. R. Coughlin, of Tamworth, New South Wales, will leave Australia soon to become veterinary surgeon to the Royal stables of the Emperor of Ethiopia (Haile Selassie) at Addis Abbaba.
It is expected that his salary will be £ASOOO a year.
He will also act as Australian trade representative. Mr Coughlin was appointed on the representations of Captain K. Boghossian. Master of the Horse in the Imperial Ethiopian Government, who recently visited Australia in search of horses for the Emperor’s bodyguard.
The Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) arrived in Rotorua by car on Saturday. In the afternoon he attended the opening of the Janet Fraser Memorial Guest House, and in the evening he was present at a Maori function at Ohinemutu. He unveiled a flag-staff at Mourea yesterday morning and afterwards was accorded a welcome and dinner by the Mourea Maoris. Yesterday afternoon he visited the guest house. He left for Wellington by car at noon today.
