Brighton-Glasgow Cycling Marathon
LONDON, Mon. (11.30 a.m.)—Thousands of holidaymakers saw the Mayor of Brighton start the Brighton-to-Glasgow six-day cycling marathon.
Over 70 riders started in ’ the race, which takes them through London. Newcastle and Edinburgh. Ronald Baker, of Britain, was first, half a wheel in front of Harold Johnson, of Australia, at the end of the first stage of 66A miles, covered in 2hr 43min 57sec.
The cyclists spend the night in an underground shelter at Chaphamsouth before starting the next stage
