'Love Interest' Here On Visit
AUCKLAND, Mon. (Sp.).—“l saw a volcano this morning.” This startling claim was made aboard the Aorangi today by the youthful, attractive singer and actress, Miss Kathy Barr, on her way to Hollywood after taking leading roles in comic operas in Australia. “Ah, where did you see this volcano?” a reporter asked. “Oh, back there somewhere,” said Miss Barr vaguely, waving a hand in the direction of Rangitoto. “I was pulled out of bed to see it.” “Much lava?” Miss Barr cast her mind back. No, it wasn’t playing, she admitted reluctantly. Miss Barr said she was under contract to make a picture with Frank Sinatra. Asked what role she would play, Miss Barr lowered her eyelashes, glanced upwards and sideways and smiled a glorious smile. “I’m the love interest,” she breathed huskily.
