(P.A.)— Hopes of arranging importations to America of Australian frozen rabbits were expressed by Mr Norman Smorgan, a passenger in the Aorangi, which arrived at Auckland today from Sydney on her way to Vancouver. He is managing director of a Victorian canning company. “At present Britain is taking all available Australian meat and there will not be any for the American market for some time.” Mr Smorgan said. “Rabbit meat, of which Birtain took over 1 000.000 cases from Australia and New Zealand last year, is. however, available for the American market.” He added that lamb and mutton, previously unpopular in the United States, bad appealed 4.0 American servicemen in Australia during the war and there was now a definite demand.
