Mr Doric L. Algie, an almost blrnd scholar who until about five years ago was a lecturer in classics at Auckland University College, died on Saturday at the age of 56 years. Mr Algie, who is survived by his wife, was a brother of Mr R. M. Algie, MP. for Remuera, and was the youngest son of the late Captain and Mrs J. A. Algie. s
Mr John Scholium, of Puhoi, who held the Dominion record of more than 60 years as postmaster and telephonist, died on Friday at the age of 84.
