Few Telephones For liasigarei South
A short minor extension of the Whangarei telephone system is being carried out in the Maunu Road area. This, however, does not mean that the demand for telephones in other sections of the southern end of the town can be satisfied. The extension being made from Maunu Road to the junction of Anzac Road is to meet certain urgent telephone applications. Sufficient pairs of wires were available in this area from the main Maunu Road cable to permit the extension to be made. Similar pairs are not available in other parts of the Maunu Road area.
Later it is proposed to make a comprehensive extension of the telephone system in the southern end of the town, similar to that now being made at the northern end.
