Maoris Impressed By Fijian Play AUCKLAND, Wed. (Sp.).—The New Zealand Maori Rugby team returned to Auckland yesterday by air. Although a more experienced team than most of the sides they playe'd against, the Maoris frankly admitted that the Fijians were generally faster and better handlers than themselves. “It was a common experience for our wing-threequarters to be pulled down from behind,” said J. B. Smith, captain of the team. “The Fijians were hard and tremendously fast, and were particularly quick at making openings from dropped passes and loose play. All they need to become really good is sound coaching and the ability to pack a solid scrum.”
