Bricklayers' Award
AUCKLAND, Sat. (Sp.) —ln an award for Auckland bicklayers issued by the Arbitration Court the minimum wage remains at 3/81 an hour as previously, but altered conditions have been introduced for various specialised types of work.
A worker who is responsible for carrying out scaffolding work and who gives instructions to others is to receive 2/- a day extra.
If a worker uses his bicycle in his employers’ work he is to be paid 2d for tiie first mile or fraction and Id for each mile thereafter.
Anniversary Day has been added to the paid award holidays, and time 'worked cn these holidays is to be paid for at double time in addition to ordinary payment.
The award is to continue in force until October 1, 1949.
