AUCKLAND, Thu. (Sp.).—'The association was alive to tile gravity of the international situation and believed firmly that a strong British Commonwealth was the best guarantee of peace until UNO could be made really effective. However, it w'as also aware that many of the weapons used in the last war were now obsolete. This is portion of a statement issued by the 2nd NZEF Association by the Dominion vice-president (Mr J. N. Wilson) yesterday. Disbelieving that war was inevitable and deploring panic thinking, which in default of a better idea, suggested putting youths of 18 years of age into camp for training, the association disagreed with the views of the RSA, the Homeservicemen’s Association, and the Air Force Association that compulsory military training should be introduced immediately. The 2nd NZEF Association stressed the need for universal compulsory physical training. '
