Whargaaei Motor Cycle Competitions

Although the majority of events held to date by the Whangarei Motor- 1 cycle Club have attracted a fair number of riders, and have proved extremely interesting, more competitors are required, particularly in the lightweight class. Additional riders would make events more competitive and provide firstclass riding and entertainment. Two events held recently were a paper chase to Waipu Cove, which was won by R. Fyfe, and a road hill climb, won by H, L. Armstrong with a lime of 22sec. RESULTS AT COVE At Waipu Cove events resulted:— Slow race: Parker (Vleocette), 1; Douglas (Triumph), 2. Bending race: Parker, 23sec, 1; R. Fyfe, 23 2-asec, 2; L. Douglas, 24see, 3. Standing start ‘/a-mile speed test: <J. Smith, riding L. Douglas’ machine, 31 1-C sec, 1; L. Douglas, 31 3-osec, 2; Parker, 34 3-ssec, 3. Return to Whangarei by averaging a set speed: Mrs Vandenberg 1; Parker 2; Cocurullo and Armstrong equal 3. Open X'iass race: L. Douglas, 22 l-ssec. 1; L.
