Cyclone Breaks N.Z.Caledonian Link
AUCKLAND, Tue. (Sp.).—Since a cyclone swept New Caledonia on Sunday radio stations at Noumea and Ton Touta have not been in contact with New Zealand.
Late Sunday morning the last messages from Tontouta said that wind gusts were reaching 85 mph. and the barometric pressure was 28.75 inches. Noumea went off the air at noon and Tontouta followed about 1.30 p.m. If it follows its present track and maintains its speed the cyclone should pass about 250 miles to the nortfi-east of Auckland about noon today.
