Railways Busy With Meat, Fertiliser
Up to last night the Whangarei Railways Department had transported 2500 tons of fertiliser from the Cape York. Most of this was carried to stations north of Whangarei, but a considerable amount went to the Dargaville area, in addition to local stations. Heavy loadings of frozen meat from Moerewa have al§o been handled by the railways during the past week. Probably because the works were becoming congested, loads for Auckland started to become larger as last week progressed.
On Monday 12 truckloads left Moerewa for the city, 15’left on Tuesday, 14 on Wednesday and 20 on Thursday. Tomorrow and Monday another 20 truckloads will leave the works for Auckland.
