Heavy Raisn Showers Heavy ram railing in Whangarei this morning caught most residents by surprise. Few people were prepared with coats. „ . After a week without any law. the ground was dry. and soaked up the moisture rapidly. . During the heaviest fall about nuciday gutters and storm-water drains were overflowing. The fall for the month to date has been ,50in in 12 days. . _ t The average fall for March is 4.39 m.

KAITAIA BAND Rules compiled by the president (Mr L. G. Thompson) and the bandmaster (Mr D. Borcham) were adopted by members of the Kaitaia Municipal Band at a special general meeting on Wednesday night. Application will be made for registration of the band as an incorporated society. Messrs S. A. Christensen and J. Hodgson were new membei's appointed to the committee.
