Wellington To Hove New Reserve Bank
WELLINGTON Fri. (Sp.).—Plans for a new £1,000,000 Reserve Bank for Wellington are being drawn up said the acting Minister of Finance (Mr Nordmeycr) yesterday. He said that it was unlikely that work on the new building would be commenced for some time, as housing
and certain other projects must receive precedence. Since its inception in 1930, the Reserve Bank has occupied several floors of the Dominion Institute Building in the heart of Wellington city in Fcatherston Street.
The bank owns a block of land bounded by Feathcrston. Whitmore and Balance Streets, and Jervois Quay, and it is in. this area that the new building will be erected.
