Rescinds Rescission, Committee Man Resigns

N. AUCKLAND POWER BOARD . . .

BY seven votes to five the North Auckland Power Board yesterday rescinded two resolutions which had been carried at a meeting of the board one month ago, and which had provided for less business being dealt with in committee. As a result of the rescission Mr J. A. S. Mac Kay resigned from the board’s finance committee. “I cannot be a member of a committee which does business in the dark when I would not do that myself,” Mr Mac Kay said.

Mr E. G. Appleton moved the resolution which rescinded Mr MacKa/s two previous motions. Those who voted for the resolution were Messrs H. Smith, D. H. Cochrane, E R. Rope, V. G. Judd, J. Sterling, the chairman (Mr A. V. Page) and Mr Appleton. Against the resolution were Messrs J. A. S. Mac Kay. J. A. Finlayson. K. M. Stevens, A. Clarke, and R. G. Murdoch.
