NEW YORK. The New York Times, in a leader, says one of the best mirrors for seeing the British Commonwealth as it stands today, new in concept, individual in national sovereignty, united on the gravest world political issues, is the United Nations, where seven of the eight Dominions play their self-deter-mined? roles with greater freedom and greater individuality than ever before. Such intra-British disputes as that over Kashmir and the South Afri-can-Indian racial case are brought before the United Nations, with Britain restricting itself to an objective role, the paper says. Cn the other hand, on such fundamental issues as international control of atomic energy and the terms of the German and Japanese peace treaties all the Dominions are substantially in full agreement. • • •
