TWO-FACED
A flower which apparently wanted to watch the sun rise and set without turning its head has been produced in a Whangarei garden. Grown by Mrs A. E. Nordstrand, of 55 Park Avenue, the flower is a dahlia with a double head and stalk, joined in Siamese twin fashion. One head of the bloom is a slightly lighter red and yellow than its mate, but this could be explained by the sun having bleached a certain amount of colour from it. The two blooms measure 44in. across. This ■ > morwng the flower was described by one budding horticulturist as a lazy gardener’s flower —growing two heads Where only one should be. * * *
