£SOO Offer Conditional
Waipu Cove Road
Residents of Waipu Cove area who have, promised to contribute £SOO for the repair of the road leading to Lang’s Beach, have attached certain conditions. These were outlined in a letter from Mr A. Y. Provan, received by the Whangarei County ‘Council today. The principal condition imposed before the money is made available is that the Government- take over control and maintenance of the road.
HIGHWAYS POLICY The council is to inform Mr Provan of the position regarding declaring a road a main highway. While the council was pleased to se'e any group of settlers prepared to assist in improving roading, it did not consider that the proposal could have any effect on the policy of the Mam Highways Board.
