PETROL
WASHINGTON, Wed. —The SecrAary of the Interior (Mr Julius Krug) warned the Senate Foreign Relations Committee today that known United States petroleum reserves would be exhausted in 10 years at the current rate of consumption.
Mr Krug, who asked Congress for more funds to develop shale oil deposits and* synthetic liquid fuels, sai& that lignite coal deposits in the United States could yield in synthetic fuels about 25 times the nation’s .present, proved petroleum leserves. Shale deposits were capable cf yielding about five ’ times the proved "petroleum reserves. * * *
