KAEO. Thur. (Sp.)—Two brothers, Edward Komene, 20, and Hector Komene, 23, were charged in the Kaeo Court today with having broken into and entered the post office and ■Tore at Saies on January 10 and stolen money and cigarettes. Both men pleaded guilty and were committed to the Supreme Court at Auckland for sentence. DetectiveSergeant E. W. Mahood. of Whangarei, prosecuted. Maori Convicted For Assaulting Police KAIKOHE, Thu. (Sp.).— Charged with having used obscene language, assaulted a constable, and resisted the police, Adam Matthew Tomuri, was sentenced by Messrs J. J. Bedggood and W. Stewart, J.P's at Kaikohe, to three months’ imprisonment on each of the fii’st two charges, the terms to be cumulative. He was convicted and discharged on the third. Constable J. King, of Kaikohe, giving evidence, said that on January 10 he had attempted to serve a summons for a breach of a prohibition order on Tomuri. Tomuri had attacked him in the main street of the town and had used obscene language. He appeared to have been drinking. Tomuri was eventually taken and locked up.
