'Whangui, India' But Letter Delivered
A letter addressed to "Bank Street, Whangui, India,” has reached a Whangarei resident for whom it was intended. Posted in London on July 29, 1947, the letter was date-stamped at Bombay, India, on August 30. It was re-addressed from there 'to Indiana, USA, and some Hindustani, writing was also added to the front cover. From the United States it was sent to New Zealand, and eventually reached Whangarei. This is just another example of the ingenuity in thought-reading of the postal authorities of several countries.
