Lime Subsidy Scheme In Operation
AUCKLAND, Thu. (Sp.).—The recent introduction of regulations governing subsidies for lime transport by road and rail, had resulted in a more regular ordering of lime by farmers, said the chairman of the Auckland Lime Millers’ Association (Mr M. H. Wynyard) yesterday. The full introduction of the new system had been made difficult as companies received advice of the regulations just before the holiday period, but all concerns were now settling down to the new arrangement.
Mr Wynyard said Department of Agriculture officers had been very helpful to millers, merchants and farmers. There had been some confusion and diversity of interpretation of rules by individuals, but difficulties would be ironed out and anomalies corrected.
