U.S. Will Stay In Berlin

BERLIN, Tue. (11.50 a.m.).—Replying to reports that Russia may incorporate her sector of Berlin into the Russian zone as a counter-measure to the Anglo-American plan to strengthen the administration of the Western zones of Germany the United States Deputy Military Governor (MajorGeneral Hays) stated that no change in Berlin's four-power status would be discussed. “The United States military Government considers the United States sector of Berlin part of the United States’ zone. “We shall always consider Berlin Germany’s capital and stay here until a united Germany, with Berlin as capital, has been established,” he said.
