POTATOES
GISBORNE: There appears to be little hope of the growers here being able to sell 1500 tons - of potatoes, which will now apparently rot or be ploughed in. Before Christmas negotiations were commenced with* the Government, but no finality was reached. Growers now face serious financial losses. —(S£) ■*
