Demand On Auckland Dock Anticipated

AUCKLAND. Tue. (Sp.)—A considerable amount of extra work is anticipated by those operating the Auckland drv dock, in view of the fact that the floating dock in Wellington will be held up for six months after January 19, when the Wanganella goes in for repairs.

Although both Lyttelton and Port Chalmers are equipped with fairly large dry docks. which could cope with some of the extra work. the majority of tradesmen and shipwrights are situated in Wellington and Auckland.

The Auckland dry dock is fully booked until the end of this, month. However, it is not expected that the extra demand for the dock will be felt until next month.
