No Application For District Nurse Job
Indicating the shortage of trained nurses there has not even been an inquiry for the position of Whangarei district nurse, the Whangarei Hospital Board was informed yesterday. The present nurse has stated that she will continue to fill the position until a relief can be obtained. During the past year 51 nurses bad been off duty for health reasons, for a loss of 633 days, the matron reported.
Advice has been received from the London office of the New Zealand Government that steps have been taken to provide a priority passage for the dietitian who has accepted a two-year appointment on the Whangarei Hospital staff.
