GREEK INFLATION
ATHENS, Mon. The head of the economic division of the American mission in Greece fears that unless the present runaway inflation can be stopped, Greece will collapse without the rebels having to fire another shot. ' The drachma on Saturday reached 235,000 to the gold pound. - Prices of all goods and services have doubled in the last six months. Wages, which a few weeks ago were adjusted to prices .are again dangerously lagging behind. Only profiteers can afford a square meal.
There are large numbers of beggars in the streets of Athens.
