Exasperated Thief
NEW YORK.—Mr C. B. Waller, proprietor of a general store in Danieltown, Virginia, grabbed his ancient revolver when he heard someone break his front window in the early morning. As a hand reached through the broken store window, Waller fired three times. The bullets oozed out of the barrel of the old pistol, and dribbled to the floor. “Cut it out,’’said the exasperated woujd-be-thief as he strolled away down the street empty handed.
Hitler's 7 Interpreter Held BERLIN, Sun.—The police have arrested Hitler's interpreter, Dr Paul Schmidt, in Tegernsee, Bavaria, reports the German news agency. They found “incriminating material” involving a number of former German Foreign Office officials. The British United Press correspondent in Frankfurt says Schmidt was liable to automatic arrest as an alleged high-ranking official of the S.S. German police made the arrest.
