Whangarei Traffic Offenders Fined Today

For driving in a manner which might have been dangerous to the public, Conrad Leslie Day, truck driver, was fined £1 and costs by Mr W. C. Harley, S.M., in the Whangarei Court today. Inspector H. R. Willis, of the Transport Department, said that a truck driven by Day had turned from Bank Street under the overhead railway bridge at a fast pace. The truck was driven between a bus and a car and it had been fortunate an accident had not occurred.

Day had admitted driving dangerously. It was his first offence. For parking in a prohibited area, Daniel Geoffery Royston Croft, a farmer, of Opuawhanga, was fined 10/with 12/- costs.

Inspector Willis said Croft had parked his car, on the Regent bus stop for about two hours.
