Mr D. L. Ross, well-known Whangarei solicitor, returned to Whangarei on Saturday after an absence of seven months abroad. Mr Ross, who spent most of his sojourn overseas in Scotland, also toured England and the United States. He returned from the States by plane, arriving at Auckland on Thursday.
Mr D. R. S. Munro stationmaster at Whangarei. retires today after 40 years’ service with the Railways Department. He will be replaced by Mr C. W. M. Cameron, of Wellington, who arrives at Whangarei on Friday’s express. Mr Munro will be guest of honour at a social to be held at Warrington Studios 'tomorrow night.
