Small Yardings At North Stock Sales
Yardings were small at Northland stock sales this week. Fat pigs were offered in good numbers, heavy prime baconers realising to £6/14/-. At Kamo where the North Auckland Farmers’ Coop., Ltd., and Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., and Walter Wakelin, Ltd., were operating, pigs were penned in larger numbers than usual. ' Dairy cattle, which were offered in small numbers, met with a keen demand.
Quotations were: Heifers, close to profit, £ll/12/6 to £l3; backward. £9 2/C to £10: later calvers, £7/2/6 to £9; cows in milk. £B/10/- to £10; boner bulls, £4 to £7; dairy heifers, in calf, £B/10/-; heavy bacon pigs. £6/11/-to £6/14/-; medium. £6/6/to £6lO/-; lighter. £6 to £6/5/-; heavy porkers, £5 to £6: good stores, £3/7/- to £4/10 '-: medium. £2/5/- to £3/5 -; weaners, £1 to £2/8/-.
