10 Hollywood Writers, Directors For Trial
WASHINGTON. Fri. (11 a.m.)—Ten Hollywood writers and directors, who refused to tell the Congressional committee whether or not they were Communists, pleaded not guilty today to charges of contempt of Congress. Federal District Judge Richmond Kecch to stand trial in separate court proceedings, beginning in Washington on February 9.
Although he was discharged from Lewisham Hospital six days ago after treatment for a bronchial cold,- the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) is still confined to bed at his home in Northland. Wellington. The Prime Minister is transacting a great deal of business from his home, but it is unlikely that he will resume his duties at Parliament Buildings next week.
