Italian Troops Mutinous
ROME, Thu.—Deep concern has been aroused in Italy by symptoms of a mutinous spirit in the Italian Army, says the correspondent of The Times. The troops affected, the correspondent says, are about 30,'000 young conscripts of the 1925 class who have been retained with the colours beyond their normal term as a safeguard of public order in view of the coming general election. At Udine, Bologna, Milan and Palermo, they have recently demonstrated in the streets in protest. In Rome yesterday about 200 of them attempted to march from a local camp to the centre of the city. Officers and the police intervened and the demonstration was broken up. These developments, the correspondent adds, are taken very seriously by all sections of the public except the Left extremists who are openly encouraging a spirit of mutiny.
