Jews, Disguised As Police, Throw Bombs

LONDON, Wed. (10 a.m.) —It is officially stated that 10 Arabs and two Jews were killed today when Jews, in a crudely-made armoured car, threw a bomb into the Jaffa Gate, says the Jerusalem correspondent of the Associated Press. Three British policemen were injured. The car then raced through the Arab quarter, where the occupants threw another bomb, which killed one Arab policeman and wounded one British constable.

The occupants abandoned the car and ran into a cemetery under fire from troops, police and Arabs. The correspondent says the attackers were disguised as Palestine police. . They wore regulation blue caps, with piastre wired on as insignia. The armoured car machine-gunned the crowd before each explosion.

The British United Press correspondent says police and troops who chased three Jews into the cemetery after the bombings shot one man, who fell. The others returned to assist him and both were shot.

Two died and one is seriously wounded.

, According to Reuters Jerusalem correspondent, British security men who chased the crew of the armoured car into the cemetery accounted for five, shooting three dead and capturing two.

NEW SECURITY MEASURES ' The Palestine Government today announced new security measures to keep Government machinery running in the main towns.

The main fortified area in the centre of Jerusalem would be enlarged. British police would be brought to Jerusalem from the Arab areas of Palestine. British troops and Arab police under British officials would replace them.

British police would guard all Government offices employing mixed Arab and Jewish workers.
