DERBY
WELLINGTON.—The first sod of the trolley derby course at Karori Park Was turned yesterday afternoon by the Mayor (Mi; W. Appleton) an d two bulldozers then carried on the work. They tu -e to shift abouj 2500yds 4 of earth and rock to pi-ovide a foundation for the 100 ft track which has to be completed for the running 0 f the derbyon Easter Monday. There was a good muster of boy's on the site, and Mr Appleton told them they ought to have a track to do much good with trolleys. He had four sons himself and knew something about it.— (P.A.)
