Australian Committee For United Nations
CANBERRA, Mon. (11.30 a.m.)—An organisation to be known as the Australian National Committee for . the United Nations is now being formed to undertake many of Australia’s responsibilities as a member of the United Nations. It will coordinate the activities of voluntary Australian bodies interested in the work of the United Nations Organisation. The committee will assist the Government in gathering information required by the United Nations, will provide means for consultation by the Government with voluntary organisations, and will act as an agency for cooperation among these organisations.
