REMITS
Having set a maximum of two, remits, the Kaikohe Chamber of Commerce instructed its first delegate to a New Zealand Chambers of Commerce conference (Mr V. F. Cracknell) to press for better main highway conditions and for intensification of land development and settlement.
Exact wording of the remit was left in the hands of the chairman and secretary of the chamber. It was felt that these were two.of the biggest problems facing not only Northland, but also the whole Dominion, and that both had enormous * influence on the trends of commercial progress.
