Fire In Rubber Repair Roam
WELLINGTON. Thu. (P.A.)— Within minutes of catching alight at 4.15 o'clock yesterday afternoon, a repair room and store on the first floor ot the Para Rubber Co.'s premises at G 5 Willis Street was burning fiercely. The brigade was on the scene smartly and did well to confine the blaze to one room. The fire occurred in the centre of the city's main shopping area. The manager of the company (Mr G. D. Fattle) could not give an estimate of the damage, but said it was considerable. Water poured through the roof into the shop of W. H. Tisdall, Ltd., where the stocks were covered with tarpaulins.
