Escape Tunnel In Jew Detention Camp
JERUSALEM. Fri. (2 p.m.). —A policeman making a routine inspection of the Latrun detention camp, saw a crack in the hut flooring. Sappers uprooted the floor and found a sunken shaft leading to 100 yards of an electrically-lit and ventilated escape tunnel to the barbed-wire surrounding the camp. Jewish detainees stoned the police investigating the tunnel and injured a sergeant and a constable.
