BUTTER PRICES UP SN AUSTRALIA
MELBOURNE, Sat. (11 a.m.)—The Federal Government will increase the retail price of butter by fa maximum of 3id per lb. The increase will apply throughout Australia from next Monday. The increase, which the Government will announce in detail before Monday, will cost consumers £1.500,000 per year. The advance in retail prices will | vary slightly in each capital city, to | briny into operation a system of uniform prices based on quality. The Government is also expected to announce shortly increased prices for cheese and other processed milk products.
