Opuawhanga
There was a good attendance of members ’at the November' meeting of the Opuawhanga Women’s Institute, presided over by Mrs Huwiler. The roll call, “A book I have read and enjoyed,” was fairly well responded to. There was a good number of entries in the competition, a Christmas gift not costing more than 3/-. Mrs Campbell gained first place, with Miss M. Weaver .second. It was decided to send six food parcels to Britain this month. u As there was so much business to discuss, no social half-hour was held at this meeting. Mrs I. Thorburn and Miss F. Weaver were hostesses for lunch.
